A few weeks ago my husband and I learned I was pregnant! Which is beyond exciting news! Which lead me to the following question, “How would we go about sharing it”? Doing the whole party or gender reveal stuff has never been our sort of thing. Plus, let’s face it, who truly has every family member’s phone numbers? So how do you share the news?
We started by telling our immediate family at first, but then came the time where it was safe to tell more of the masses of people. Which is then when people typically go to post online. So as someone who decided to go a year without social media, I was left with a decision. To post it or to leave things be.
I honestly treated this like it was an incredibly serious decision to make. Like the decision to get back on would ruin my 6 months of progress I made. But I wanted to be the one who shared the news with everyone. Therefore, I made the choice to sign back in and post our exciting news!
So I guess my journey of going a whole year without social media ended early. Which only left me feeling like I failed for a while, but then I realized. I don’t care about it like I used to and that’s a huge relief! Now I am free from the never ending scrolling and the guilt from ever getting on it. It’s just a tool to use whenever I need to. Not a way of life.
